Institution Notes:

A private Catholic liberal arts university administered by the Jesuit order. It can trace its history back to 1865, and gained its current name and status in 1973. The College of Communications and Fine Arts offers programs in communication studies, theatre, dance, music, studio arts, art history and clinical art therapy. The music department is based in the Burns Fine Arts Center. It places strong emphasis on choral music. Instrument collections include a gamelan and angklung groups and there is some emphasis on study of the music of Java and Bali. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
