Institution Notes:
The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts was established in 1980, and forms part of Edith Cowan University’s School of Communications and Creative Industries. Its programs include studies in dance, music theatre, music (classical, jazz, contemporary), broadcasting, sound design, stage management, costume, lighting, props and scenery, acting, Aboriginal theatre and arts management. Facilities include a number of fine performance spaces and state-of-the-art recording and electronics studios and production workshops. The library holds a substantial collection of music education materials and Orff instruments. There is a bank of orchestral instruments available for student hire.
