Bachelor of Arts in Music. Studies include performance (classical, jazz), composition, basic conducting, musicology, ethnomusicology.


Institution Notes:

A private college established in 1887. Pomona College is a member of the Claremont Colleges Consortium which also includes Scripps College, Pitzer College, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences and the Graduate School of Claremont University, most providing programs in music available to all enrolled students of each college. Cross-registration is free, with each college sharing libraries and other facilities. All graduate programs are taken at the Claremont Graduate University. Most of the individual performance tuition and a number of joint music program ensembles for the consortium are provided at Pomona College and Scripps College. There are several fine performance spaces. The College holds the Fiske collection of musical instruments as well as a Balinese gamelan and a number of non-Western instruments.
