Details:

Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Two tracks - music history and music theory. Studies in performance (classical, jazz), jazz history, aural skills, composition, music technology. Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Four years. Studies include choral and instrumental conducting.


Institution Notes:

A state university founded in 1927. The music department sees its particular strengths in vocal, choral and guitar music. The opera program is the only one of its kind in Arkansas, offering two performances each year. The Fine Arts Building houses the 304-seat Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall as well as a well-equipped music technology studio. A Community School of the Arts offers programs in music (piano, guitar, violin and violoncello), visual art and foreign languages to children and interested members of the community. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
