Institution Notes:

A state-supported institution founded in 1820 and becoming Alabama's flagship university in 1831. The School of Music occupies the Frank Moody Music Building, opened in 1987, with its 1,000-seat concert hall and Holtkamp organ, as well as other fine performance and rehearsal spaces. There is an active opera program available to graduate and undergraduate students in all degree programs. The School of Music operates a Community Music School offering music tuition to interested children and members of the local community. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
