Bachelor of Arts. Four years. Music concentrations in performance (classical, jazz), composition, theory, music history, music education (with choral and instrumental conducting), music technology. Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Four years.
Institution Notes:
A state-supported university established in 1936 and gained its current name and status in 1969. The Department of Music is housed in the newly renovated Hulsey Center for the Arts. The Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center houses four fine performing spaces. This is an All-Steinway School. A Young Performing Artists Program allows music students to present a full-length, public recital sponsored by the Department, successful completion of which enables the student to graduate with honours. Students majoring in other academic fields may take a minor in music or music technology. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
