Originally founded in 1927, the Conservatorio gained its current name and status in 1968. There is a preparatory program for students wishing to enter the professional program. The Conservatorio also offers music tuition to young people and interested members of the local community. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
