Institution Notes:

The University was established in 1868 as a business school, and gained its current name and status in 1935. The historical seat is Ca' Foscari, a Venetian Gothic palace (ca' being the abbreviated form of 'case' = house). The School of Cultural Production and Conservation of the Cultural Heritage is an interdepartmental school, offering, among other things, the three-year program of Corso di Laurea in the disciplines of Art, Music and Spectacle (Theatre) (DAMS).
