There is a collection of traditional music in the ethnomusicological archives as well as a museum of historical instruments, photographs, manuscripts and documents. Active and honorary members of the Accademia in the 1800s include Cherubini, Mercadante, Donizetti, Rossini, Paganini, Auber, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Berlioz, Gounod and Meyerbeer. The Academy organises exhibitions, lectures, seminars and conferences as well as concerts for children and families. There are music workshops for schools and for children with disabilities and well as concerts in hospitals, with some activities designed as music therapy programs. There is a junior orchestra.
