Institution Notes:

The University of Pavia is the oldest university in Lombardy, being founded in 1361. Its School of Musicology is located in Cremona. The Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage offers programs in musicology, ethnomusicology and studies that may lead to a qualification in music librarianship. There is also a program in conservation and restoration of musical instruments, with the Department holding a collection of 70 early instruments including copies of medieval, renaissance and baroque instruments.
