Diploma (=Bachelor). Three years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz/pop, music theatre, early music), choral and instrumental conducting, composition, electroacoustic music, music history, music technology, music education.
Master of Arts. In performance, sound technology and music composition.
The Conservatorio can trace its history back to 1877. The Arturo Toscanini Studio contains a collection of his letters, photographs and art works as well as his music library. The Arrigo Boito Studio contains the letters and autographs of Boito's opera libretti. There is a collection of early instruments, an 1804 Erard fortepiano, two early double basses and the original 16th century organ of Claudio Merulo. The Conservatorio offers a preparatory program for students wishing to enter the professional program. It also offers music tuition to children and interested members of the local community. There is an attached secondary music school. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
