Violin Craftsman Certificate. Two years. Violin-maker Diploma. Two years following the Violin Craftsman certificate. Studies include acoustics, violin and bow making and repairing, music education, design, mathematics, law, accountancy.

The Istituto di Istruzione Superiore ‘Antonio Stradivari’ which houses the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria 'Antonio Stradivari' (International School of String Instrument Making), founded in 1938, is the only state school in Italy for violin-making. The School belongs to the Antonio Stradivari Institute of Higher Education. There are two teaching streams: • for 14-year-old Italian students or for foreigners not in possession of a high school diploma and without practical experience in violin making, and • for those holding a high school diploma or having practical experience in violin making.
