The Former Dublin Institute of Technology was officially dissolved in 2019 and its functions were transferred to the Technological University Dublin. The Conservatory has departments of performance, opera, jazz, Irish traditional music as well as supportive academic studies. There are some fine performance spaces, a music technology studio and well-equipped recording and video facilities. There is a foundation course in music to prepare students for entry to the professional music programs. Individual instrumental and vocal tuition is offered to interested members of the community. Other campuses are in Tallaght and Blanchardstown. The Conservatory is home to The Research Foundation for Music in Ireland, which promotes the dynamic musical life of Ireland. It advances the study and performance of music in Ireland to national and international audiences, to the scholarly community and to the music industry. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
